(Article Featured From GGVogue.com)

Girl Gamer Vogue, MashFest, Chocolate Lemon Gamer, and Killjoy Videos sponsored the first NYC Gaming Bloggers, Podcasters, YouTubers Meetup(NYCGBPY) this past Monday at the Fashion 40 Lounge near Times Square. Youtubers, Bloggers, Podcasters, Pro gamers, video game journalist, cosplayers, and anime fans attended the first ever NYCGBPY. Seeing this many people come together at a Meetup like this only validates that what we are doing means a lot. To all that attendees, thank you for making our first meetup to bring gamers from all walks of life and passions together to network and collaborate while having fun. We got to meet so many gamers with great ideas that we are striving to organize it again for next month. For those that didn?t make it, come to the next one! Whether you?re a beginner or pro, it?s never too early or late to network or seek passionate and professional gamers breaking into the video game industry in ways you?ve never imagined. What is NYCGBPY?

This meetup event is for ANYONE who has an interest in-game focused youtube, blogging or podcasting. It doesn?t matter if you?re a pro with thousands of followers or someone who just started a few days ago. We hope to bring gamers together to collaborate, network, and grow to do amazing things in the gaming community. There is no place better to do it than in NYC and we hope you join to do great things with us.

What is the purpose of NYCGBPY?

The purpose of this event is to get Youtubers, Bloggers, and Podcasters together to network, socialize, and create in New York City. Starting small, we hope to create a strong gaming community in the East that rivals the West, but we need YOU to do that. Whether you?re new to blogging, have an idea for a great video game parody, or are looking into podcasting this event is for you. Ask question to people in the field you?re thinking about pursuing. Get advice, tips, and opportunities by networking with others in the field. You don?t need to be a pro at any of these concepts, but you need passion to get anywhere. Here you can learn how to keep the passion, get motivated, and take the right steps to get your ideas off the ground.

How does NYCGBPY hope to do that?

In order to get the most out of this event, attendees of the Meetup will participant in an Alternate Reality Game (ARG) that will combine as a social ice-breaker and networking tool to help you take the first steps to meeting new people in the field. Be sure to bring your business cards, cameras, digital recorders, and creativity as this Meetup will expect great things to unfold after. Be prepared to be on camera as we will utilize the event to seek sponsorships for bigger and better opportunities in the future.
